Who’s Behind the Murrine Cutter?
Douglas Flugum likes to make things. All sorts of things – from a successful career making computer networks for business to more recent pursuits making custom jewelry and blown glass pieces. He is passionate about glassblowing, but describes himself as more of a technician. So when he started making blown glass vases and other pieces using cut murrine, his technical mindset took over and drove him to say, “there has to be a better way to cut these canes.”
